Spring Mountain Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health therapist to join our team in a full-time remote capacity. This role is integral to our mission of providing exceptional trauma-informed care to individuals. Our outpatient office specializes in evidence-based practices tailored for individuals dealing with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Work Environment\n

This position is fully remote, allowing for a flexible work setting. Our organization values work-life balance, and we support our therapists with the necessary tools and resources to deliver optimal care. While your primary responsibilities will be conducted remotely, you may occasionally participate in team consultations at our Brookhaven outpatient office. Your work schedule will be primarily Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate the needs of your clients.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed mental health assessments to delve into patients' trauma histories, utilizing this information to determine effective treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that emphasize trauma recovery, resilience-building, and client empowerment.
\n
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), ensuring that therapy aligns with each client's unique situation.
\n
• Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions designed to help clients process their experiences, acquire effective coping skills, and foster emotional healing.
\n
• Engage in close collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate and enhance the quality of patient care.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring responsive support for clients in distress.
\n
• Educate clients and their families about trauma responses and coping strategies, empowering them with knowledge and resources.
\n
• Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with applicable legal and ethical regulations, using electronic health record (EHR) systems proficiently.

• Participate in case consultations and team meetings focused on trauma-informed care, sharing insights and experiences to foster professional development.
\n
• Stay informed about contemporary research and best practices in trauma therapy to continually enhance the quality of care provided.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

In this role, you will work predominantly with patients who have endured various forms of trauma, including PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Your expertise will be central to addressing the emotional and psychological challenges these clients face, all while nurturing their journey towards healing and resilience.

Qualifications\n

• A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
\n
• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT in New York State.
\n
• A solid understanding of trauma-related disorders and trauma-informed treatment methodologies.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating a compassionate, non-judgmental approach toward clients.
\n
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, allowing for meaningful interaction with clients and colleagues alike.
\n
• Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and comfortable with various computer applications.
\n
• Strong teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
\n

Preferred Experience\n

• A minimum of 2 years of relevant post-licensure experience providing trauma-focused therapies is highly preferred.
\n
• Demonstrated experience in delivering individual and group therapy informed by research-based clinical practices.

Compensation and Benefits\n
