A Step Ahead Counseling Center is seeking a full-time Licensed Mental Health Therapist to join our dedicated team, providing specialized care to individuals grappling with the effects of trauma. Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate patients' trauma history and identify tailored treatment strategies.

• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans focused on trauma recovery, using evidence-based therapies and interventions, such as EMDR and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT).

• Lead both individual and group therapy sessions, guiding patients through their recovery processes, helping them to develop coping mechanisms, and facilitating healing discussions.

• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to coordinate integrated care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
\n
• Provide crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies, ensuring immediate care and establishing safety for patients.
\n
• Educate patients and their families regarding trauma responses, coping strategies, and available mental health resources to enhance their understanding and engagement in treatment.

• Maintain accurate, confidential, and compliant documentation that meets legal and ethical standards, documenting the progress and treatment of patients in an Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.

• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops, contributing to continuous learning regarding trauma-informed care practices.

• Stay informed about the latest research and advancements in trauma therapy to ensure the delivery of effective therapeutic interventions.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

Our primary focus lies in supporting individuals affected by various forms of trauma. Patients range from those with single-event trauma to others dealing with the complexities of long-term trauma exposure. By specializing in trauma recovery, you will address issues related to PTSD, complex trauma, and dissociative disorders, positively influencing patients' lives and mental health.

Qualifications\n

• A master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Psychology from an accredited institution is essential.

• Current and valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Texas is required.
\n
• A strong foundation in trauma-related disorders, including trauma-informed treatment modalities and approaches to resilience-building is necessary.
\n
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, coupled with a compassionate and non-judgmental demeanor, are critical for building rapport with patients.
\n
• The ability to remain calm under pressure and handle crisis situations effectively is crucial for this role.

• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and proficiency in related computer applications are required.

• A strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.

Preferred Experience\n

• At least 2 years of post-licensure clinical experience focused on trauma treatment is preferred.

• Proficiency in delivering trauma-focused therapies and a solid understanding of various evidence-based practices is desirable.

• Experience in providing group therapy and leading workshops related to trauma recovery is a plus.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The position offers an annual salary range of USD 90,000 to 110,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
